Solid iron play is absolutely essential to playing better golf. Irons have the widest range of use of any set of clubs. An iron is the most versatile club in your bag. And you can't get close to the hole without one. Yet the average golfer never takes the time to improve his iron play. That's why he's average.
Go to any driving range and you'll see what I'm talking about: Guys trying to knock the ball into the next county with drivers that look like upside down mailboxes. Because the three things most golfers care about these days are distance...distance...and more distance.
